How to get the cheapest plane tickets! (How I get 50% off on plane tickets)
TIPS ON HOW TO GET THE CHEAPEST PLANE TICKET!
Hello Everyone! It is still summer time and we all need some time to travel and relax! However, are you wondering because of the high ticket prices?
No worries! Let me share you some tips on how to save money on your ticket prices!
Tip 1. Tuesday Midnight (Local Time)
Just like Uber and Lyft, ticket prices also fluctuates. Of course when the demand is high, the prices are not going to be cheap. High demand time usually include Friday and Weekend, so try to avoid this time. Get your tickets on Tuesday or Wednesday midnight!
For example, if you are flying with Korean Air, visit their website on Tuesday night 2-4AM (Korean Local Time). There are possibilities that the price will drop. One time I tried to buy a round trip ticket from DC to Seoul on Korean Air, but the initial price was around $1300. I visited their website on Tuesday midnight around 2AM (Korean local time) and I got the ticket for $857. A sudden drop like this does not occur frequently, but it does happen. So Watch out!
2. Book 1 month-3 months Ahead
Tickets are usually cheapest 1-3 months before your departure date. Some people believe the earlier you buy the cheaper it is. But this is not always true. If you get your ticket like a year ahead, the airlines have not yet finalized the prices for next years departure, so they are likely to sell it at higher prices than what it should be.
So get your ticket 1-3 months ahead. Reservation of 45 days to 60 days ahead of your departure will give you the best deals!
3. Contact the Travel Agencies for Promotion
Travel Agencies are likely to get the tickets from the airlines at cheaper prices than the prices we pay the airlines. Probably because they have a lot at once (Economies of Scale LOL). Sometimes, they even have the promotion code for you to apply as well!
Last July, I booked my ticket to Indonesia (Lombok, Bali, Jakarta) through travel agencies and they applied 45% off promotion code for me! So, I traveled three areas for less than $200 on Garuda Indonesia (Indonesia's Major Airline)! Isn't this amazing? Don't miss these great deals.
4. Check for Any Code Share Flights!
Major airlines around the world are usually part of one of the alliances. United Airlines is a part of Star Alliance, Delta is part of Sky Team and Qatar Airways is part of One World Alliance. Airlines sometimes operates with code share flights, and two different airlines sell the same ticket at two different prices. You can get the same meals, flight and all other services at cheaper price!
I once traveled from Seoul, South-Korea to Paris on Korean Air's Business Class at only $2500 (round trip). At that time economy class was already $1500, and Business class was sold at $5000 on Korean Air's official website. However, I knew that Air France and Korean Air are both in Sky Team Alliance, so I checked round trip itinerary to Paris in Air France's website. What a surprise, it was only $2500! Half price! Even though, I paid Air France, the flight was operated by Korean Air. I got on Korean Air's business class, and got same services with the people who paid $5000.
Aren't these AMAZING?
Using these tips (or tricks), I saved $100 at least, and $2500 at most! Use and save your money.
